“If you want to go far, go together.” Our work of uplifting women in philanthropy and women’s and girls’ causes does not happen without community. I’m so grateful for the community that gathered today at the New-York Historical Society to celebrate #GiveToWomenAndGirls Day. Without Amplify Her Foundation, especially Marti Speranza Wong and Laura Risimini, this event wouldn’t have happened. Your leadership and partnership made today possible. I’m grateful to everyone who shared the stage with me, especially Noorain Khan, Maheen Kaleem, and Sarah Haacke Byrd for joining my panel on moving from data to action. The work you are doing today and every day is inspiring and is the reason the Women’s Philanthropy Institute exists. And I’m grateful to so many women who have supported me and offered their time, talent, and treasure to support this work, including Dianne Chipps Bailey our tireless WPI Council Chair, Teresa C. Younger,Victoria Vrana, and McPherson Strategies colleagues and friends Sheridan Earle (She/Her), Isabelle Jette, Susan McPherson, and Helena Medeiros-Cansana. Finally, I’m grateful to Allison Fine and Every.org for creating the new Women and Girls cause area. There’s still time to make an impact on #GiveToWomenAndGirlsDay - you can find an organization to support on the Every.org site!

Yet charitable giving to them still remains low at 1.9% of all giving, which means we still have work to do!
