We all have reason to celebrate when pregnant workers’ rights are upheld to the strongest extent– this month Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC and Gilbert Employment Law, P.C. secured a $45m payout from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection for 1,000 workers. The settlement also enacts personnel policy overhauls for the agency so future pregnant workers are not discriminated against. WorkLife Law applauds these attorneys for their success– and for sending the message that pregnancy discrimination hurts not only the workers who face it and their children, but can also be very costly for businesses. #pregnancydiscrimination #classaction

Illinois has enacted the nation's strongest law against family responsibilities discrimination. Starting in 2025, employers will be banned from discriminating based on caregiving responsibilities. This is a huge win-- and we are especially proud that this legislation was based on WorkLife Law's model. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gRcgkxmw
