Worknet Merced County is committed to assist the business community to keep pace with new growth, the emerging economy, and their ever-changing needs by creating a better educated and skilled workforce. Worknet Merced County assists employers with recruitment, skills assessment, job fairs and hiring. Worknet Merced County can also provide assistance with training costs for qualified new hires through our On-the-Job training and Subsidized Employment programs, which may reimburse employer wage costs from 50% to 100% during the training period. For our job seeker clients, Worknet Merced County provides programs for young adults 18 to 24 years of age and adults in our community through partnerships with local employers, education, community colleges, and vocational training facilities. Job seekers are matched with our Career Coaches who provide them with career counseling, resume assistance, interview techniques, job leads, vocational training opportunities, and job placement assistance. Worknet Merced County has offices in Merced and Los Banos and hosts job fairs and hiring fairs throughout Merced County. Attention Merced County Direct Care Workers: We are excited to share the announcement of free training for eligible Direct Care Workers known as CalGrows - a California Department of Aging program. Merced County will recruit and train 150 participants (120 paid and 30 unpaid Direct Care Workers). Participants who complete the 50 hours of training could earn a $1,500 stipend from CalGrows. Note: Only paid (employed) Direct Care Workers qualify for the incentive payments from CalGrows.
