🐯 Ajay Kulkarni is a co-founder and CEO at Timescale, a modern cloud platform built on PostgreSQL. Here are the 3 takeaways he shared with us as a recent guest for Crossing the Enterprise Chasm. 🙅 Importance of saying no: As enticing as it is to prioritize custom requests from marquee customers, concentrating too much revenue on a single customer can be dangerous. Try to focus on building features that cater to a diverse customer base. ☎ Limitations of PLG: PLG is great for getting from 0 to 1 quickly, but it will eventually cap your revenue growth. Part II of the "Build vs. Buy" series shows that a homegrown solution can lead to a potential revenue loss of $7.95 million over three years compared to using WorkOS. The difference in ROI is even more striking: 9% for a homegrown solution vs. 1,954% with WorkOS. https://lnkd.in/eM34tsfC

What makes supporting SCIM in-house even more complex than SSO is the fragmentation that exists across customer onboarding, IdP implementation, and triage. For example, a user's email address, which is critical information needed for a successful SCIM integration, is not mandatory in many providers, leading to invalid events and more troubleshooting. This is just one of the many data fragmentation issues your application must solve as you evolve your SCIM solution. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eZ9VxHic
