The most common misunderstanding about “Workplace” is that it is only made up of either “Facilities” or “Real Estate”. When in reality, a workplace experience is driven by ALL the corporate functions whose primary focus is the physical work environment, which includes ALL these functions: Workplace Strategy Corporate Real Estate Interior Design and Space Planning Project Management Facility Management Safety and Security Workplace Services or Amenities Workplace Technology DEIB as supported in the physical space Workplace Sustainability It takes all these functions working together to drive a workplace experience that is essential to an individual worker, to teams, and to the organization itself - especially in this hybrid environment. And truth be told, the skills, competencies, vision, and understanding of each of these functions do not exist in any other corporate department – neither Finance, nor Human Resources, nor IT.  So how can they be expected to drive decisions on creating workplace experiences? As Workplace Professionals, YOU are the only ones in your organizations who have what it takes to transform the workplace and successfully support workers, teams, and the organization in any hybrid environment. As hybrid strategies are being developed in companies around the world, data shows that the need for an office or a company workplace remains both relevant and important to maintaining business success. But the fact is, the workplace is no longer what it used to be. It too, is transforming in this hybrid environment, and the need to redefine it – to transform it along with the hybrid environment – is just as pressing. This is why hybrid strategies cannot rely on policy and HR alone to be successful.
