About us
The choices we make reveal how much we care for our world. Confronted by the social and environmental realities of our time, we choose to pursue our vision for a thriving world. Through our products, carbon giving program, and partnerships we are using business to create a better world. World Centric began with a mission to reduce economic injustice and environmental degradation through education and community networks. Founded in 2004 by Aseem Das as a non-profit, he funded the organization through a small, online store promoting Fair Trade products. Realizing the contribution compostables items have to reducing waste, they were added to the store’s offerings. As demand grew for an earth-friendly alternative to traditional disposables, World Centric began to innovate and introduce our own products made from renewable resources and agricultural byproducts. We unintentionally became a leading supplier in the green packaging industry.Recognizing the power of commerce to impact the planet, World Centric converted to a for-profit social enterprise in 2009. In 2010, we certified as a B Corp, then became a California Benefit Corporation - using our products and profits as a way to make a difference in the world. “When we are young, we think the whole world revolves around us - that is Ego Centric. As we grow, we connect with people who share our same religion or traditions - that is Ethno Centric. When we expand that connection to care about everyone on the planet - that is WORLD CENTRIC.”

We had the best time at Farming Hope's 2nd Annual ‘Eat Your Scraps’ competition, where local chefs create bites from a mystery selection of recovered products, and guests receive a token to vote for their fave dish. 🧡 Part of Farming Hope’s mission is reducing food waste. Annually, they rescue over 25,000 pounds of food that’s imperfect or too close to the “best by” date. They also provide culinary job training for formerly incarcerated and unhoused community members.
