Happy to note that many of the Public Relations PRactitioners Society of Malaysia and Public Relations and Communications Association of Malaysia (PRCA Malaysia) members, tuned in and watched RTM TV1 "Bicara Naratif" and heard from not 1 but 2 Public Relations Stalwarts who are renowned and accomplished Communications PRactitioners in their own right about where we must unite and progress towards if we are to ensure that "The Future of PR" is a bright and rewarding one. The discussion was a follow up to World PR Day 2024 "The Future of PR" in the Malaysian context and sharing the challenges PRactitioners face in today's business landscape. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Koh Juat Muay 许月妹, AMIPRS at the launch of the Public Relations PRactitioners Society of Malaysia during World PR Day on 16 July 2024. From the moment we met, I was drawn to her warm presence and genuine enthusiasm. As the President of the IPRS (Institute of Public Relations of Singapore) Juat Muay has a remarkable reputation, but experiencing her kindness and passion firsthand made her even more impressive. With over 30 years of experience spanning the public, private, and non-profit sectors, her career is nothing short of extraordinary. What stood out to me the most was her heartfelt dedication to our industry. Although our time together was brief, Juat Muay’s thoughtful gesture of gifting me her book, "One Dish Wonder," spoke volumes about her character. This book is more than just a professional resource; it reflects her caring nature and her commitment to making our PR industry not only effective but also humane. I could feel her practical, solution-oriented mindset shining through every page, providing valuable insights for professionals at all levels. Juat Muay’s diverse background—leading a cultural diplomacy non-profit and managing an award-winning PR agency—has equipped her with a unique perspective on communications and organizational well-being. Her academic journey, which includes a Master's in Organizational Leadership and a Specialist Diploma in Counseling Psychology, underscores her commitment to continuous growth. She deeply values the human element of our work, and this blend of experience and knowledge makes her a true thought leader. Though I haven’t yet witnessed Juat Muay's innovative approaches in action, her glowing reputation and the wisdom shared in her writing reveal a professional who is not just skilled, but also genuinely caring and forward-thinking. Her focus on harmonizing people and processes, along with her appreciation for diversity, is exactly what we need as our industry navigates constant change. As a fellow PR professional, I find Juat Muay's journey incredibly inspiring. Her leadership at the Institute of Public Relations Singapore is uplifting for all of us in the community. The brief time I spent with Juat Muay left a lasting impression, filled with warmth and eagerness to learn more. Her generosity in sharing her knowledge through her book has ignited my own passion to grow in this field. Professionals like Juat Muay remind us of the positive impact we can create, not just through our work but through our approach to nurturing the next generation of PR practitioners. I sincerely look forward to future opportunities to connect with Juat Muay, a true luminary whose influence in PR resonates deeply. And here's to better cross border collaboration in the not too distant future.

From crafting press releases that capture media attention to creating engaging digital content that connects fans with their favourite athletes, PR is the backbone of building strong brands and fostering passionate communities. Looking back at my career journey, I'm proud of the experiences I've had working with Rishi, Bharath, and Radhika who guided me in my formative years as a professional at Rishi Narain Sports Marketing. This laid the foundation for my fruitful experiences at the All India Tennis Association (AITA), the Ladies European Tour (LET), and the Women's Golf Association of India (WGAI). Whether it was securing media coverage for tournaments or boosting social media engagement, effective communication has always been at the heart of successful PR activations we delivered.
