  • 🔊 Final Call for Presentations 2025 Annual Competition - Creating A Better Tomorrow The theme for the third annual competition is “Creating A Better Tomorrow.” Participants are encouraged to explore solutions to pressing issues such as climate change, hunger, transportation systems, and other crises. Submissions addressing these concerns will be highly considered. ✅ Our Mission World Technology Partner’s strives to promote technology throughout the world with the development of informational, programming and educational resources. Our efforts will seek to secure new strategies highlighting increasing research, collaboration and innovation opportunities for future generations. ✅ The Overall Competition The World Technology Partners Competition encourages the support of under-grad, graduate, doctoral or post doc students in their research, teaching and other activities in Technology and/or the Sciences. Up to $1,000 and mentoring opportunities will be awarded towards projects that relate to World Technology Partners global strategic efforts in the following regions: Africa, Asia/Pacific, Caribbean, Central America/Mexico, Eastern Europe, and South America. Up to six applicants will be selected for funding, mentoring and other visibility during the 4th quarter of 2024. Funding will be available December 20th. Applications will be evaluated in terms of addressing topics of global significance as well as the articulation of clear and measurable goals with achievable outcomes. ✅ Priority will be given to projects that involve two or more of the following: - Clear alignment with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) - Involvement of diverse geographic regions or under-represented geographic regions. The supplemental funds awarded will defray costs associated with project expenses or travel for academic purposes including, but not limited to: research collaboration, partnership development, study abroad program development, international collaboration on virtual/online course development or other scholarly activities. Adewale Irewale, a Doctoral Research Scholar from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria, impressed us with his project on "Utilization of Functionalized Biochar from Water Hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) as Green Nano-Fertilizers." His research not only addresses environmental challenges but also promotes sustainable agriculture practices in Africa. Adewale's project contributes to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 2: Zero Hunger: By enhancing agricultural productivity with eco-friendly biochar, Adewale supports efforts to achieve food security and promote sustainable agriculture.
