The South Section contract includes the rehabilitation to concrete on Interstate 40 at Exit 44 and separating the off-ramp into Exit 44A and Exit 44B. The project will also include widening and upgrades to the interchange from I-40 East to I-26 East. Wrapping up my summer internship with Wright Brothers Construction Company, Inc. today and returning to UTK on monday to finish my Construction Science and Management degree. The amount of information I gained this summer from the paving crews, plant operations, and Lab Manager, Noah Russell, will have a lasting impact on my career development. Wright Brothers' PIE Center educators Jared Waldrop, Brodie Stone and Michael Morningstar work with the Fall 2024 PIE Crew at Bradley High School. The Crew is working to install a catchwater drain at Bear Stadium. Each student gets hands-on lessons in fundamental construction skills such as surveying, demolition of existing structures, and bringing the drain to grade. • Our award-winning PIE Center Construction Science Program teaches upperclassmen (juniors and seniors) who attend Bradley County Schools and Polk County High School methodologies, skills and safe practices in a controlled learning environment. Each student spends half of a school day earning credits towards their high school diploma and the other half developing their heavy civil skillsets.
