I hope every corporation, every rep, every doctor that owns their practice reads all of this.
One goal every entrepreneur should have is learning how to work less every year, while still making the amount of money you want/need to live the lifestyle you desire (that number is of course different for every person). That’s the true definition of growth to an #entrepreneur.
That is why we take the risks we do and become the Chief Everything Officers we become in our companies. We sacrifice sleep, relationships, debt, risk, anxiety and so much more with the hope to have the money and time freedom that makes all the above worth it.
Unfortunately, many #orthodontists, #dentists and other business owners don’t have their businesses setup to achieve the true definition of growth and few teach the right way to actually do it.
A corporation struggles to understand the above and why I’m convinced very few of them can wrap their heads around what #Doctor small business owners really need as far as courses, curriculums, coaching, etc.
If a Doctor needs clinical help they have a thousand places to get it from. When they want and need #entrepreneur (not business) advice there is nothing … and I mean nothing that exists in orthodontics, etc. outside of New Patient Group - The Employee and Patient Experience Co. program. This is also a mindset change the orthos must make as well as most of you don’t hang amongst entrepreneurs. Rather you hang amongst each other and every billionaire entrepreneur would tell you that’s a huge mistake when that’s all you do is seek peer to peer advice. It’s a massive mindset change the industry must make.
Most don’t differentiate between costs and investments and instead lump all their business expenses into one category. They can’t see past the finite data on paper, which to an MBA means everything but to an entrepreneur should mean little to nothing.
Example?
Corporations look at the bottom line, their profit, etc. Entrepreneurs can’t view it that way. If our take home magic number is 500k a year (for example) than everything above that should be focused on buying things that reduces stress, workload, etc. even if that raises overhead. That’s called an investment. It’s not an expense and why finite data is a liar when you own a business. This is one of hundreds of disconnects between corporations and entrepreneurs.
Every time I speak about the above topics, Doctors in the audience rave about the content and want more. It’s inarguable how true and impactful all the above is but the corporations, large events and others keep defaulting to the same ole.
Bob Skopek, a friend of mine and long time customer will be joining me to kickoff the first episode of season 8 of the New Patient Group - The Employee and Patient Experience Co. Podcast to chat about all the above and more. It’s an episode I want the entire industry to listen to and it’ll be live the first business day of 2025!
