WTS attracts, sustains, connects and advances women’s careers to strengthen the transportation industry.

About us

WTS International was founded in 1977 by a group of pioneering women in transportation who realized that women’s careers would benefit from professional development, encouragement and recognition to support their advancement in transportation professions. Now, after more than 40 years of growth and development, WTS is an international organization with more than 6500 members (including women and men) and 79 chapters. WTS is connected to a network of 40,000 transportation professionals. Local chapters generate high-caliber professional development and networking opportunities for WTS members across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Through its professional activities, networking opportunities, and unparalleled access to industry and government leaders, WTS is turning the glass ceiling into a career portal. WTS stands for Women's Transportation Seminar, which was how it was named when founded in 1977 when women couldn't get subsidized for association memberships unless they were educational. But times have changed, and now joining an association is an opportunity women and men can take advantage of to work together and benefit each other in their careers.

  • *** WTS Book Club starts March 27th *** Join fellow WTS Iowa Chapter members for our Spring Book Club! We’ll be reading “Don’t Feed the Elephants!” by Sarah Noll Wilson. Meeting will be held virtually. March 27 from 4-5 pm - Parts I and II Virtually and In-Person (theGARAGE Ankeny Blue Bean, 110 N Ankeny BLVD, Suite 200, Ankeny, IA 50023). April 24th from 3:30-5 pm – Part III Book Summary Get ready for your next transformational read! Over 15 years in the making, Don’t Feed the Elephants! is a deep dive into avoidance in relationships, and in doing so creating a harmful barrier to success. Great relationships aren’t the ones where there’s no conflict, but the ones where you can resolve and recover from the conflict and thrive because of it. Where you can step into the fire together and both come out stronger. When we approach our metaphorical elephants-in-the-room with compassion, curiosity and courage, we’re able to dance in the moment with other people in a vulnerable way that opens our relationships to powerful possibilities. By the end of Don’t Feed the Elephants!, you’ll be equipped to push past your comfort zone, roll up your sleeves and get curious. https://lnkd.in/ezueAkBe *** RSVP to Jennifer.mccoy@bolton-menk.com *** We look forward to seeing you!
