At the food distribution centers in Kakuma (FDC1, FDC2, and FDC3), Rehori is taking the lead in raising awareness for the upcoming 16 Days of Activism. Our team is communicating vital information in multiple languages, ensuring the message reaches the entire community. The exact dates, themes, and venues for the campaign will be shared soon as the GBV working group, in collaboration with the UN Refugee Agency, is working diligently on the preparations. We are distributing informative leaflets that cover essential topics such as GBV concepts, reporting mechanisms, available services in Kakuma, and the DRC's hotline for free support. Additionally, information on PSEA/H, including where and how to report cases, is included. The leaflets also highlight the core humanitarian principles to reinforce awareness within the community. This initiative is made possible through the generous partnership of DRC and ECHO, allowing us to effectively disseminate critical information to protect and empower vulnerable individuals in Kakuma. #16DaysOfActivism #EndGBV #ProtectRefugees #HumanRights #PSEA #GenderEquality #Kakuma #Kalobeyei #SpeakOut #SafetyForAll @UNRefugeeAgency @DRC @ECHO @RehoriCBO @EndViolence @GBVWorkingGroup @PSEA_Humanitarian @ProtectionInitiative@KKRIN@Abbey

Enhancing GBV Awareness Through Innovative Approaches At Rehori, we are proud to implement innovative strategies to raise awareness about Gender-Based Violence (GBV) during our community outreach efforts. Our door-to-door system, along with targeted awareness campaigns at reception centers and food distribution points in Kakuma and Kalobeyei, allows us to connect with individuals directly and efficiently. This method ensures that we reach a larger audience, providing essential information on GBV prevention and support services. In collaboration with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and with generous support from ECHO, our approach emphasizes community involvement and empowerment. By leveraging these partnerships, we can mobilize resources and deliver impactful sensitization sessions that resonate with the community. As we prepare for the upcoming 16 Days of Activism, our focus remains on educating community members about the forms, causes, and consequences of GBV, as well as promoting reporting mechanisms and available support services. We believe that through direct engagement and strategic collaboration, we can foster a safer and more informed community, encouraging everyone to play a role in combating GBV. Together, we are making strides towards a more resilient and supportive environment for all. Through our steadfast commitment and collaboration with our honored partner, the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), and with the generous support of ECHO, we are making significant strides in addressing GBV in our community. Our awareness campaign emphasizes the importance of recognizing GBV, providing information on where to report cases, and detailing the referral pathways for survivors to access the necessary support services.      Rehori Centre today, we held a vital session with women on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), focusing on their health and the importance of using reusable sanitary pads. Our collaboration with KDII, the primary supplier of reusable sanitary pads and a key health education institution in Kakuma and Kalobeyei, has greatly impressed us. This partnership aligns with Rehori's commitment to raising community awareness on GBV and promoting peace cohesion. However, our mission goes beyond just distribution; it is about educating our community on SRHR to ensure they lead healthy lives and build a better future. To achieve this, we must secure the necessary resources and materials for continued education and awareness-raising initiatives within our communities. We urgently call on all humanitarian organizations operating in refugee settings to join us in this crucial effort. Your support is essential in helping us reach our goals, providing the tools and education needed to empower women and girls in Kakuma and Kalobeyei. We also appeal to international and global partners to be actively involved in this cause, offering both financial and material support to bolster our initiatives. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of these women, ensuring that they have access to the knowledge and resources needed to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. Let’s unite to create a future where every woman and girl can thrive with dignity and respect. #SRHR#GenderEquality#GBVPrevention#PeaceCohesion#HealthForAll #ReusableSanitaryPads #RefugeeHealth #WomenEmpowerment #Kakuma #Kalobeyei #HumanitarianAid@KDII @UNHCR @UN_Women @WHO @GlobalCompact @HumanRightsWatch @SaveChildrenKEN@CARE @Abbeydeadman@salvador@Theo @KKRIN@REHORI

Suicide is a global crisis, claiming the lives of nearly 800,000 people annually, with countless more attempting it. The situation in refugee camps like Kakuma and Kalobeyei is even more alarming. Here, the pressures of food and water shortages, lack of education, unemployment, and the heavy burdens on young mothers and households drive many to the brink of despair. The youth, facing a future filled with uncertainty, are particularly vulnerable. At Rehori Community-Based Organization, we are deeply committed to addressing this crisis. We believe that empowering local organizations is key to fighting against suicide in refugee camps. Our work focuses on providing support to families, advocating for better resources, and creating opportunities for youth to find purpose and hope. But we can't do this alone. We urgently call on donors, partners, and the international community to prioritize direct funding to local actors like us. By investing in grassroots organizations, you enable us to provide the vital services and support that can save lives. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, despite the challenges they face. Your support is not just a donation; it’s a lifeline. Let’s stand together in this fight against suicide. Empower the local organizations that know the community best, and help us bring hope to those who need it most.
