We recently hosted a Moonshot Workshop at the #WorldAgriTech Summit. 🌾 Attendees from diverse fields came together to ideate on prize competition ideas across two areas: agriculture systems for farming climate solutions, and MRV for these new types of agriculture systems. Here are some highlights from the event: ➡️ XPRIZE EVP, Climate + Energy David Babson discussed the current state of the climate crisis. ➡️ XPRIZE EVP, Food + Water + Waste Lauren Greenlee gave an inside look at the exciting new prize concepts within this focus area. ➡️ XPRIZE SVP, Partnerships + Impact Elaine (Fischer) Hungenberg spoke about the historical impact of the foundation and its 30 years of prize competitions. ➡️ Sarah Garland, PhD, Founder and Executive Director of the Triple Helix Institute for Agriculture, Climate, and Society, shared her efforts in raising awareness of AgTech’s critical role in climate action and developing solutions that drive societal benefits. ➡️ Participants pitched eight brilliant prize concepts. The winning prize idea, Enabling Prize Adoption at Scale, was pitched by Sarah Federman at Carbon Direct. This prize would challenge innovators to develop verifiable solutions to overcome financial, social, and agronomic barriers to scaling sustainable farming practices for major global crops.
