    HPGL Strategy 3: Lift Multiple Wells Traditionally, wells on SPHPGL have used 1:1 HPGL booster per well. What if I told you instead that you could use 1 HPGL booster compressor to inject into 2-3 wells to improve LOE well economics? The HPGL booster compressors are 2 stage machines with the ability to switch easily between two configurations: operating in series, or operating in parallel: Series is for injection pressures from 2,500-4,500 psi with injection rates around ~1.5 MMSCFD. Parallel is for injection pressure from 1,200-2,500 psi with injection rates as high as ~3.0 MMSCFD. When a well IPs on HPGL, injection kickoff pressures are generally in the 2,500-3,500 psi range (and on rare occasions go as high as 4,000-4,500 psi). As the well produces barrels from the reservoir, the bottom hole pressure declines, and the required injection pressure comes down with it. FYI, a good rule of thumb I use for HPGL injection pressure requirements is: Injection psi = (Bottom hole pressure) - (1.1 psi/ft x ftTVD) Anyways, what I was getting at.. 90% of the well's life during HPGL is in the 1,500-2,500 psi injection pressure range. This means that we can run the 2 stages in parallel and get up to or over ~3.0 MMSCFD injection rates. This in turn allows you to inject into 2 wells at ~1.5 MMSCFD each, or 3 wells at ~1.0 MMSCFD each (the higher the producing GLR, the less injection rate required). This will require a high pressure meter and control valve skid downstream of the HPGL booster, (and you might have to have one or two meetings with your facilities group), but it's possible to do and we have a customer we do it with on the majority of their wells. You can still set the HPLG booster on the well pad downstream of your ~1,200 psi gas lift injection header, you just need fewer HPGL boosters on the pad. As demand for HPGL units continues to increase and put upward pressure on monthly lease rates, we can use these HPGL boosters more efficiently and effectively to lift more wells with fewer units, and reduce LOE at the same time.

    HPGL Strategy 2: Maximize New Well IP Rates This is the traditional and most widespread use for HPGL Booster Compressors. You can take advantage of a well's early time high PI (Productivity Index) and maximize IP (Initial Production) rates by using the HPGL high injection pressure to inject at the bottom of the well and produce up the annulus early on. This method overcomes the 2 main bottlenecks that prevent conventional gas lift in 5-1/2" casing from outperforming ESP production: limited injection depth, and high hydraulic friction up 2-7/8". It's important to point out that this is primarily production acceleration strategy, and in the vast majority of cases it will not add barrels to your EUR. I've done a lot of early time decline curve and IPR analysis of wells on ESP, conventional gas lift, and HPGL, and all other things being equal, the cumulative production of the different artificial lift methods eventually converge. It could be after 6 months, or a year, or two years. Of course it varies based on area, formation, water cut, GLR, and bottom hole pressure. There is a small exception though, and it depends on your early time pad flowback/production strategy. Where am I going with this? Have you ever had a pad development where one well was brought online much later than the rest of the wells, maybe due to a casing issue, or fishing job to retrieve guns, or coil got stuck? When that well eventually IP's after the rest of the wells on the pad have been producing, it's an absolute dog and significantly under performs the rest of the wells because the bottom hole pressure has been significantly reduced and you've lost that early high PI window. If you have varying strategies on the pad for production acceleration, the offset wells with less aggressive drawdown strategies could be negatively affected. IMHO, wells in a common pad development that communicate should have matching drawdown strategies. Thoughts? Feedback? #permianbasin #oilgas #HPGL #Artificallift

    HPGL Strategy 1: Clean Up Sand and Solids During Flowback This can even be done when flowing up casing with no tubing in the hole. After wells load up and die, you can extend flowback time to clean up sand and plug parts by shutting in the flowline and injecting into the well until the HPGL unit goes down on high discharge pressure. After this, open the well back up and continue flowing back. This is much more effective than swabbing. We have a customer we do this with on a regular basis using our trailer mounted units. Easy to drop in, inject, turn around, flow back, and move to the next well. Anyone else doing this? Thoughts?

    In New Mexico I often see entire fields getting shut in for flaring mitigation because of gas sales issues. SPHPGL can help eliminate flaring. How you ask? If you get shut out of selling gas, you still want to produce oil, but your oil production is constrained because there's no where to put the gas. The only option is the sales pipeline. You can store oil in the tank battery, but it's not like you have a big tank to store produced gas until the sales line is up and running again. Or do you? Here's my pitch. When gas sales goes down, keep producing most of your wells, but dedicate a select few wells for gas injection. Use the HPGL booster compressors and inject the produced gas from the facility into these select reservoirs. When gas sales is re-established, turn them around and produce them, like a mini huff & puff. This could all be automated. I totally get that there are permitting and mineral hurtles to overcome. But from a technical point of view, this is extremely doable. Thoughts? Anyone already doing this? #permianbasin #productionengineering #hpgl

    Five years ago this month we started TCB Energy services.   Everyone goes about a startup different so not sure there is any one recipe for success …… as usual whatever works for you.   We had no grand strategy, no SWOT analysis, no lengthy power point business plan presentation, no external capital investment, nothing. We simply wanted to do our own thing. Now we had some half-hearted attempts previously that never got past go and were failures, in hindsight this was probably a good thing in disguise. This time we positioned ourselves financially to weather the storm and have plenty of time to see this through which was uniquely different from our prior attempts.   We got started by simply asking customers what their pain-points were around in our area of expertise, and then we went to work to see how we could help.   We knew that we wanted to build a team that had the highest level of skill, experience and were industry experts! Those folks are very rare and expensive, so we had to get creative to figure out how to motivate them to join the team and lead building the business, which we did! Hiring who we could afford at the time was never considered. This was a pivotal decision in our success, I’m convinced of it. It’s all about the quality of the team you build, the right people attract more of the right people!     5 years later our team has:   Been awarded two patents in an industry not known for its innovation. This came straight from listening to customers needs and having a talented team that could execute - TCB!   These patents and our relationships led to starting two more business in April of 2020, remember what was going on then? Great time to start and I mean that!   In 2024 we will have recruited north of 100 amazingly talented people, put approximately $500 million dollars to work and have three highly profitable - successful businesses! And we are just getting this party started!   I am super proud of our teams; TCB Energy Services, BHE Compression and XStream Lift.   Thanks to all of our customers that got us started and continue to support us today, we would be nothing without you!   Thanks to all our partners that helped us build these great businesses. At times it was challenging I know but we are committed to making this a success for us all and I hope you can now see that.   Thanks to all of the entrepreneurs who came along side and helped us many times without us even asking. You guys are amazing - you know who you are!   Thanks to everyone that is part of our team! We are only as good as the team we build. We appreciate you taking the chance to help us build something cool!   Can’t wait to see where our team takes us over the next five years!   Keep on Taking Care of Business!!
