YALI RLC EA SOUTH SUDAN ALUMNI CHAPTER team, consisting of the Chapter Chairperson Mr. Aguto Peter, the Participants Engagement Committee Chair Mrs Veronica Agel, and the Resource Mobilization and Partnership Committee Chair Mr. James Wek, had a productive meeting with the EDC (Education Development Center). The purpose of the meeting was to explore potential collaboration and partnership with the Education Development Centre, aiming to empower and support young people in South Sudan through basic education skills, entrepreneurship, and community service. The YALI RLC EA South Sudan Alumni Chapter is a non-governmental organization, registered by the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) in South Sudan under registration number 4716. As a prominent chapter of the Young African Leaders Initiative East Africa Centre (YALI RLC EA) offering a strategic four-week training program, participants engage in various tracks, including Civic Leadership, Public Management, Business, and Entrepreneurship. The organization aligns itself with the broader vision initiated by the U.S. Government. This vision serves as a flagship program designed to invest in the next generation of African leaders. At the heart of the YALI RLC EA South Sudan Alumni Chapter's mission is a commitment to empowering young individuals. this comprehensive training aims to equip emerging leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate and contribute meaningfully to the complex challenges of our time. Mr. Yoal, an alumnus of the YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa Cohort 39 and TOT Cohort 2, has consistently exhibited outstanding leadership and dedication to human rights causes. As a prominent peace and human rights activist, Mr. Yoal is the founding director of the African Peacemakers Alliance (PAPA), an organization he established in 2018. PAPA, under Mr. Yoal's visionary leadership, focuses on youth-led peacebuilding and conflict transformation. The organization is dedicated to fostering peace, leadership development, respect for human rights, good governance, interfaith dialogue, and social development within South Sudanese communities affected by conflict and violence. Mr. Yoal's tireless efforts are underscored by the impactful campaigns he has spearheaded, including a recent initiative aimed at providing humanitarian support to refugees from Sudan currently residing in South Sudan. This initiative reflects his commitment to not only advocate for human rights but also actively contribute to alleviating the challenges faced by vulnerable populations.
