We are excited to announce the launch of Yango Transport in Lima, offering users real-time bus tracking and detailed public transport information through the Yango SuperApp. In partnership with TuRuta Inc., the app with verified data for 99% of Lima's public routes, this service simplifies route planning for millions of commuters. Our mission is to enhance urban mobility, and we will invest in installing 3,000 GPS trackers in Lima’s buses by year-end. This is the first SuperApp in Lima to offer real-time bus tracking, further expanding Yango’s range of ride-hailing, delivery, cargo, and navigation services. This new initiative offers one of the most comprehensive safety coverages in the ride-hailing industry, ensuring protection throughout every journey. The insurance plan covers incidents such as accidental medical reimbursement, permanent disability, and damage to drivers' mobile phones—all at no extra cost. It’s automatically activated for every ride booked through our ride-hailing platform, ensuring seamless protection from start to finish. We’re excited to partner with the Zambian National STEM Foundation to launch the Yango Fellowship for Talented STEM Students in Zambia! This initiative will provide financial aid, mentorship, and professional development to outstanding STEM students across #Zambia, focusing on empowering youth and women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Kabanda Chewe, Country Manager for Yango in Zambia, highlights “Education in technology is key to Africa’s future. We’re committed to bridging the gap in STEM education and fostering a skilled workforce for Zambia's progress." Candidates must be a Zambian citizen, between 18 to 25 years old, and enrolled in a Lusaka Based University STEM program. First-year students must have scored 6-12 points on their Grade 12 Certificate. Continuing students must have passed all courses in their previous year of study.
