Tonight Young Erie Professionals held a private cooking class with Chef Brianna from Zadie's Gourmet at Buona Cucina Oils and More. We learned how to whip up a fantastic balsamic dressing with ingredients from Buona Cucina, elevated the classic rice krispie treats with some brown butter, seared the best zucchini, and learned how to make the perfect fettuccine alfredo. Thank you, Chef Brianna, for teaching us new skills and recipes, and thank you, Buona Cucina, for being a wonderful host! To learn more about upcoming YEP events, check out www.yeperie.org/events.

A big thank you to Jenna Rappold, MS, CSCS, for the opportunity to deliver a guest lecture to her Professional Practice class at Gannon University. It was a pleasure to engage with future professionals as they gear up for success this weekend. We focused on leveraging the S.T.A.R. method to effectively navigate interviews for internships and job opportunities. The energy in the room was fantastic, with insightful questions that demonstrated the students’ drive to excel. I’m excited to see how this next generation of talent will accelerate their career growth! A special shoutout to Young Erie Professionals for facilitating this valuable connection and creating opportunities for us to elevate the next wave of leaders.

I’m excited to share that as of September 5th, I have been voted into the position of Vice Chair of the Recreation and Wellness Committee for the nonprofit Young Erie Professionals (YEP). I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Matthew Elder (Chair) and Drayke Karges (Chair- Growth & Success) and the Board of Directors for their guidance and support as I take on this important role. For those unfamiliar with YEP, it was co-founded in 2002 by Julie Krumpe Groenendaal and Keith Overfield, two Erie natives with a shared vision of creating opportunities for young professionals to stay, grow, and thrive here in Erie. Today, YEP is proud to represent over 200 talented and passionate professionals across various disciplines, all working toward a common goal — investing in our community and contributing to Erie’s future. I am thrilled to be a part of such a dynamic organization and to have the opportunity to do meaningful work for the city of Erie. Our purpose at YEP is to attract, develop, and mobilize young emerging leaders, and I look forward to advancing these values through my new role. Together, we are building a city that values inclusion, community, leadership, and advocacy, and I can’t wait to see what we will accomplish in the months ahead. As a part of the position, I got to attend my first official event with YEP which was the off the Clock at Gallery Night where we met at the Erie Art Gallery and art/business hopped throughout the city of Erie!

Congrats to YEP member, Drayke Karges!
I’m thrilled to officially step into the role of Vice President for my BNI (Business Networking International) group! It’s an honor to serve alongside two incredible leaders, Ron Vinyard, MBA, CFP®, CRPS® (President) and Angela Hoopsick (Secretary/Treasurer). I’m looking forward to collaborating with this talented team and our amazing members as we continue to grow, build connections, and help our community thrive. #EriePA #CommunityGrowth #Networking
