One of our early morning Y Aqua Challenge classes is affectionately known as the “Dawn Divas.” A special guest joined them this year for an annual tradition to honor breast cancer survivors and those we’ve lost. Never thought we’d get WBRC 6 News’ JehJeh Pruitt in the water for #ExerciseMonday! You’re a convincing leader Mr. Scott Monnett!

Last week three of our leaders attended the YMCA Emerging Multicultural Leadership Experience in Virginia. The event celebrates the diverse talent and vibrant culture within The Y Movement. Leaders learn, network and choose workshops based on their passions and development pathways. Welcome home to Briana Williams, area youth program director; Terri Harvill chief social impact officer; and Kayla Buckner, director of marketing and communications!

Our YMCA Youth in Government students from A.H. Parker and Ramsay High Schools represented the YMCA and Birmingham City Schools this weekend at Spain Park High School for Regional Mock Trials. We have THREE Judges appointed from Ramsay and THREE Judges appointed from Parker. Their bailiffs also came from their respective schools. Parker had one competition team to compete in the trials. Thank you to every teacher and attorney who worked with the students to make it possible. Leadership starts here!

We are proud to bring this life changing support program to our Y! If you or someone you know is looking for the next step, consider joining our first ever LIVESTRONG at the YMCA group this October. It is no cost and participants of this small group have membership access throughout the 10-week class. https://lnkd.in/eP88frKs
