Curiosity is a muscle that should be continuously exercised and improved. In my opinion, it’s an underrated quality that should be on every job description. If you are truly interested in a prospective employer, take the time to do additional research and come to the table with insightful, purposeful questions. After all, the interview process is also your opportunity to interview the employer and make sure it’s a long term career fit. Curiosity separates good from great.

We continue to be impressed with Wesley Brown! Although a finance nerd, Wes is a great business operator. He brings a very thoughtful and structured management approach to his professional career, his teams and his business building.
Meet our CFO, Wesley Brown 👋 A finance professional and investment expert focused on construction and infrastructure, Wesley Brown intimately knows the financial opportunities—and pitfalls—of collaborating with business owners to help them grow their businesses. Wesley resides in Kansas City with his wife and three children. When he's not leading the CopperPoint team, you can find him on the field, coaching his son's flag football team. Wesley is a wealth of knowledge and positivity. When asked what he loves most at CopperPoint, he shared, "I love working with CopperPoint’s amazing leadership team and the leaders at our partner companies to advance our purpose, “to positively impact as many people as possible.” His advice to fellow business owners trying to grow their companies is to invest in and develop their people. It's the people that make a company great. Before founding CopperPoint, Wesley was the director of Cresta Fund Management, a middle-market private equity firm focused on construction, infrastructure, energy, and transportation. Take a minute to say hi and connect. You'll be hard-pressed to find someone as knowledgeable and personable as our amazing CFO, Wesley Brown. #KansasCity #privateequity #acquisition #finance #CFO #contruction #plumbing #hvac #electrical #trades #bizowner #founder #copperpoint #1248holdings #workingdad #familyman #leadership

Thank you to Alex Federinko for discussing a hard-to-navigate intersection: where preparation and opportunity meet. A common misconception: what you often call 'luck' is actually the result of consistent effort meeting the right moment.

Reminder: You can't control everything, but you can control how you respond to it. Thank you, Brandon Kanoy, CPA for the healthy reminder!
