I'm thrilled to announce our first YumCrunch collaboration with the talented Owen Han! Introducing "Nonna Knows," a new series where Owen cooks virtually with his grandmother in Italy. Beyond being recognized as the #SandwichKing, Owen showcases his diverse culinary talents in this heartwarming project that brings all the feels. Owen's deep connection to Italian culture stems from his childhood visits to Tuscany, where he learned the fundamentals of Italian cuisine from his grandmother. "Nonna Knows" captures Owen's exceptional cooking abilities and Italian fluency as he endeavors to recreate his Nonna's cherished family recipes. Stay tuned for Nonna's unique 1-10 rating system at the end of each episode! Watch, comment, and share if you enjoy it. Today is fulfillment day for our latest round of the world’s best meal kits! I love getting out of the office and into our kitchen with our team. After months of development, just like every one of our food experiences, this is yet another 5-star meal. I think my favorite review could be this one: “It’s like having a Michelin meal in my own kitchen!” And the best part is that, thanks to our proprietary method, our home cooks are guaranteed to be serving these dishes within 20 minutes of pressing “play” on our cookalong video. It sure is fun making edible entertainment at YumCrunch! #BonAppetit #food #foodie #media

Real talk: it's hard to understand where the value lies in media these days for both consumers and advertisers. That's why I'm so excited to be moderating The CTV vs. MOBILE Debate at #StreamingMediaNYC on May 20 In the user-centric media era (coined by Evan Shapīro), where viewers want content on their terms, there's a blurry line between mobile viewing and CTV. So where should programmers and advertisers focus their attention? This debate-style panel with an all-star cast of industry leaders will attempt to answer the make or break questions facing our industry as we try to keep up with shifting consumer behavior. If you'd like to attend the #StreamingMediaNYC conference, you can use the discount code GoUpstream for full access! If you haven't already, give our panelists a follow. See you in NYC! --> Kent Rees (Sling TV) --> Dallas Lawrence (Telly TV) --> Hedvig Arnet (Vevo) --> Steve Crombie (Totem Network) Date & Time: May 20, 3:30PM #media #content #streaming #NYC

    What he said.

"Consumers are leaving traditional media behind... 59% say user generated content (Social Video) is equally entertaining as traditional media." -Accenture 2024 Media Report If you work in media and you haven't read this staggering report yet, here's a link below. In the report, Accenture diagnoses the problems facing media and offers a roadmap for reinvention. While, at first glance, you may feel like this is built for giant media companies, the truth is it's a roadmap for you (a media professional), me (a media entrepreneur) and every media company with whom we all work. As you read it, you'll see strongly-worded calls to action that require big bets, radical shifts, and bold moves that meet viewers where they are in the User Centric Media Era. And this is coming from one of the world's leading business consultancies - which is to say, they're ringing the alarm bells as loudly as possible in order to minimize casualties and maximize survivors. In fact, the tagline on this report is "Only the radical will survive and thrive." IMHO there are two ways to read this report. 1) Let it scare you (even more) or 2) Let it inspire you. If you work in entertainment, your job is not to tell the audience what to watch or where to watch it. Your job is to please the audience wherever they are. That is the essence of our radical new media model at YumCrunch. We embrace all available distribution channels while simultaneously generating multiple revenue streams with every piece of content. This model doesn't rely on just subscriptions, just advertising, just commerce. It relies on the momentum of a content flywheel that drives all 3. And yes, our model embraces BOTH traditional media and social video. (ask me how) Please comment below, or share this post with your thoughts so that we can amplify the alarm bells that all of us need to hear. For additional insights, Matthew Belloni interviewed one of the authors of the report, John Peters, yesterday on his podcast #TheTown. And, as always, my media guru, Evan Shapīro offered his take earlier today on LinkedIn. #BigBetLeadership #Media #SocialVideo #Business #CategoryDesign https://lnkd.in/gVmj3B-g

    S'mores anyone?

Our team at Ugly Brother Studios and YumCrunch, led by my brother Tim Duffy, was the first to film inside the museum-ified El Bulli in 2016 when we made Eat the World with Emeril Lagasse. In this Emmy-winning episode, Chef Jose Andrés and Chef Emeril Lagasse were given a truly extraordinary tour by Ferran Adriá, and then ate at Albert Adriá's Enigma restaurant. It was pretty awesome. But nobody slept there. So, yeah, Eater and Amy McCarthy, we agree this experience from AirBnB is super weird. Especially with no showers. Personally, I'd love to visit but I don't want to stay overnight and risk getting Menu'd into a S'more (nice one, Amy!). But, I'm curious, is there anybody in my network who would go for this experience? https://lnkd.in/gJJqhkpM

No, Thank You, I Do Not Want to Sleep Inside El Bulli
