At YWCA Clark County, we are committed to leading the fight against gender-based violence, empowering our youth, and building a safer, more equitable future. Tragically, over 50% of domestic violence homicides in our county occur within the BIPOC community—a disparity that demands immediate action. In response, we are partnering with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office to form a Domestic Violence High Risk Team, an initiative aimed at preventing intimate partner deaths. But we need your support to make this program a reality. To learn more about this critical program and how you can help, read the full statement from our CEO on our blog: bit.ly/4ekG7NV

Today, on Women's Equality Day, we honor the certification of the 19th Amendment, a monumental step in granting women the right to vote. However, it's essential to acknowledge that this right was not initially extended to all women. Women of color had to fight for decades longer to achieve full equality under the law. This day serves as a reminder that true equality in practice remains an ongoing journey. We must continue to push for genuine equality for all. #WomensEqualityDay #YWCAClarkCounty
