This month, Jeffery Tobias Halter, Gender Strategist writes that "Allyship is not a noun. It’s a verb that requires visible and vocal action." As I highlight in my presentations, "Allyship is not a noun. It’s a verb that requires visible and vocal action." As we find ourselves six months into 2024, it's a crucial time to reflect on our efforts. Have you attended events, read articles, or engaged in direct conversations to broaden your understanding? More importantly, have you translated that knowledge into actionable steps to foster positive change in your workplace or community? For those who have been actively learning and advocating, keep up the momentum! If you are seeking a starting point or seeking to enhance your allyship skills, consider these actionable steps: - Engage in open dialogues to understand diverse perspectives. - Support and amplify underrepresented voices in meetings and projects. - Advocate for inclusive policies and practices within your organization. #allyship #advocacy #inclusion Acknowledging the valuable contributions of my colleagues Kim Graham Lee David Smith Brad Johnson Tsedale Melaku Angie Beeman Gabrielle Claiborne Integrating Women Leaders Foundation Transformation Journeys Worldwide Share your allyship resources in the comments:

How can your company work to close the gender wage gap? In the April issue of Jeffery's Conversation QuickStarters, he looks at how women can advocate for themselves AND how companies can promote equitable practices and stop confining women (and men!) to antiquated gender-based stereotypes that hurt the talent pipeline and constrict career advancement. He also takes a closer look at the three wage negotiation myths identified by Kathryn Valentine and Hannah Riley Bowles as harming women's careers and hampering their ability earn equal pay. While there are more women in the C-Suite and represented at VP and SVP levels than ever before, the hard-won gains could prove unsustainable if we don't focus on the vital corporate talent pipeline. This is the mixed and bottom-line finding of the McKinsey & Company and Lean In Women in the Workplace 2023 report, and it should serve as a wake-up call to companies. In my LinkedIn article "The Realities (and Myths) Hindering Women in the Workplace," I take a look at four myths that McKinsey busts about what's holding women back and talk about solutions. The report shows that the myths -- which touch on work flexibility and the attitudes about it, the "Broken Rung" and the impact of microaggressions -- no longer accurately describe employee attitudes in today's world. Check it out here: #professionalwoman #brokenrung #microaggressions

Did you know that more women globally left their jobs in 2022 due to inflexible hours than left due to inflexible location policies? That's right. The 2023 Deloitte Women @ Work: A Global Outlook report found that lack of flexibility around working hours is one of the top three reasons women cite for voluntarily leaving their employer in the past year. What's your experience? How is your organization addressing the need for flexible work hours?
