Today is World Mental Health Day – a day to reflect on the importance of mental well-being and to remind ourselves of the impact mental health has on every aspect of our lives. At Zero Overdose, we are deeply committed to supporting mental wellness through overdose prevention, education, and advocacy. The intersection between mental health and substance use is undeniable. Many individuals battling addiction also struggle with mental health challenges, and it's critical that we work together to break down the stigma and barriers that prevent them from accessing the help they need. By creating safe spaces, sharing knowledge, and offering resources, we can empower individuals to not only survive but thrive. Let’s continue to build a community where mental health is prioritized, and every life is valued. Join us in raising awareness, fostering compassion, and supporting those who need it most. 💚 Virna Little Jorge R. As leaders from across the country convened in Washington, DC, for the Alignment for Progress conference, we at Zero Overdose stand united with nearly 150 organizations in support of The Kennedy Forum's bold vision: to ensure that 90% of the population is screened for mental health and substance use disorders (MH/SUD), 90% receive quality treatment, and 90% manage their symptoms and achieve lasting recovery. Through the Alignment for Progress Commitment Project, Zero Overdose is committed to driving this vision forward by focusing on overdose prevention. Our unique goal is to promote standardized overdose risk screening and safety planning as core components of harm reduction strategies. We are working to build a national community of individuals, municipalities, and organizations dedicated to preventing overdose events, saving lives, and supporting those impacted by substance use disorders. Together, we can reduce the devastating toll of overdose and create a safer, healthier future for all.

As part of the Alignment for Progress Commitment Project, we have set a unique goal that helps move us toward that future by building a national community of individuals, municipalities, and organizations dedicated to reducing overdose events and deaths, through overdose risk screening and safety planning, and supporting those impacted by SUD.
