I am thrilled to announce the launch of District’s (https://lnkd.in/gnBzMQuY) public beta! After months in stealth mode with a few trusted early advisors, I'm ready to finally talk about District, a membership community designed for top founders, operators, and VCs. Think of it as a next-generation YPO, but with two unique additions: member ownership and shared resources. I've been fortunate to be part of extraordinary communities like Y Combinator (W11) and Harvard Business School (Section I). The support and networks from these communities played a pivotal role in my journey, from selling my first company (TalkBin) to securing early funding for Liquid 2 Ventures. The people you surround yourself with can be one of the most impactful factors in both your personal and professional life. With District, I aimed to create a community that brings together the people I respect most, combined with one of the most interesting aspects of Web3—decentralized ownership. What is District? 1. A Thriving Community - District is a place where members connect one-on-one, form peer groups (6-10 members) for mastermind sessions, and attend larger events. The connections made here have led to members securing $10M+ rounds of financing and customer intros between members creating significant revenue. Whether it’s Garry Tan opening his home for members (https://lnkd.in/gT6JmEXG) or our workshops, District is built for meaningful connections. 2. Powered by DAO & Member Rewards - At the heart of District is a DAO model, where members own the community and direct how membership fees are allocated. Members earn tokens based on their contributions: The more you contribute, the more you earn. This approach incentivizes active participation and ensures that those who add the most value to the community are rewarded accordingly. Whether it’s sharing resources, organizing events, or helping members, your contributions directly translate into directing the membership fees within District. Recently, founders from companies like Applied Intuition, Frontier, ZeroCater, Shogun (https://lnkd.in/gRtDChfh), Producthunt, and Phantom Wallet collaborated on a shared billboard in SF—it’s been amazing to see so many members come together. We've been quietly testing in SF with 100 incredible members, including early founding members like Garry Tan, Travis Hedge, Qasar Younis, and Ali Sabeti. 10% of our members are unicorn founders, and another 10% are VCs managing a billion dollars or more.
