Just two months ago, I was enjoying the serene beauty of Chimney Rock, North Carolina, with my daughter, completely unaware of the devastation Hurricane Helene would soon unleash. Today, that same area is ravaged by catastrophic flooding, turning once vibrant communities into isolated islands. This disaster is a stark reminder that climate change is no longer a distant threat—it’s here, and it’s affecting lives, livelihoods, and entire ecosystems. Now more than ever, corporate America must step up, not just with words, but with real action. It’s time for companies to invest in clean energy, resilient infrastructure, and sustainable practices that protect both our environment and the communities they serve.
