Are recommendations on your profile important? Yes. Because there is a NEW CHANGE to LinkedIn. When you access a profile without logging into LinkedIn it now displays how many recommendations that person has. Your clients are Googling you, and recommendations build trust. So next time somebody praises you for great work (with a smile and a light-hearted wink) ask them to write you a recommendation... Skills endorsements and recommendations are a gift of appreciation and in an increasingly noisy world LinkedIn can be a reward and recognition tool because as one of my clients wryly observed, nobody cares about a pat on the back anymore...
