A1 Telekom Austria Group reports a revenue growth of 0.7% in the first quarter of 2024. Service revenues increased by 3.1%. We continue to perceive an environment of rising costs, where we need to focus on efficiency measures. EBITDA increased by 4.2%. In Austria we secured mobile frequencies in the 26 GHz range as well as in the 3.5 GHz band in a public auction with a total investment of EUR 7.2 million. We are committed to continue investing in our award-winning networks. The company's continued transformation towards sustainability also remains in focus. In addition to further decarbonization, we are also putting a special emphasis on the supply chain and the implementation of CSRD. Really happy about the results announcement for Deutsche Telekom Europe today, showing the 24th quarter of consecutive EBITDA growth with 4,1% in Q4! Also overall I am really happy with the performance of our countries and the segment regarding the previous year. Having started in a very volatile and challenging environment regarding inflation, energy prices, etc we were able to grow quarter on quarter, resulting in +4,8% revenue growth (to 11,8bn€) and +2,8% EBITDA AL growth (to 4,1bn€) for the full year. These very good financial results were underpinned and driven by continuing commercial momentum and underlying business: +2,8% Mobile Contract customers (to 27,2m) +4,6% Broadband customers (to 7,0m) +1m FTTH households (to 9,1m) On behalf of the whole Team Europe I would like to say a big thank you to all the countries in our portfolio for delivering these very good results! Ericsson Mobility Report - Business Review edition - Feb ´24 The journey to unlock the 5G business opportunity is still in its early stages. Globally, we are seeing deployments continue at pace – around 290 service providers have launched commercial 5G services to date. Yet it is estimated that by the end of 2023, 5G mid-band was deployed in only around 30 percent of existing 4G sites globally. However, due to strong competition and limited opportunities for service providers to differentiate, mobile service revenues have not grown in line with expectations. An important aspect of 5G is that it also brings cost efficiencies by reducing energy consumption and supporting service providers to manage the anticipated data traffic.
