During #WomensHistoryMonth, we celebrate women everywhere and the contributions they make around the world. Cubic Defense Vice President, Hina Godil, reflects on her journey as a female executive which has taught her the importance of resilience, authenticity and empathy while fueling her passion to drive positive change and empower others. “I am deeply committed to advocating for gender equality and creating opportunities for women to thrive in leadership roles. By serving as a champion for other women, I hope to inspire and empower them to pursue their own ambitions and realize their full potential.” Hina credits her own mother for the impact she’s had on her personal and professional journey. “Immigrating to the U.S. with three children, all under the age of 3, she never wavered in her determination to provide for our family and create a better future for us.”

The Language & Behaviours of Inclusion: How not to sabotage progress and alienate allies 📅 Thursday 11th April | 1-2pm 📍 Online Has the women's rights movement really gone 'too far'? According to a recent global study by Kings College London, nearly half of Britons (47%) say that when it comes to giving women equal rights with men, things have gone far enough, and that we have gone so far in promoting women’s equality, men are now being discriminated against. However, an almost equal share (43%) of Britons disagree with this statement, underscoring the continued polarisation of attitudes regarding gender equality. Join this webinar, being held by Women in Sustainability, for a refreshing and forthright conversation to explore the language and behaviours of inclusion, how not to sabotage progress and alienate allies. Two inspiring guest speakers: - Noora Firaq MV GB, Deputy CEO, Climate Outreach - Mark Freed, CEO, Men for Inclusion For more info and tickets 👉: https://lnkd.in/eSDKeYiW

By commemorating Women's History Month, we not only acknowledge the past struggles and triumphs but also reaffirm our commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable future for all. Let's use this month as a platform to amplify women's voices, support their businesses, elevate their stories, and champion gender equality in every aspect of society. #WomensHistoryMonth #EmpowerWomen [ID: The video is in sepia tones with a variety of pictures of suffrage-era newspaper clips and photos of diverse women. The first graphic reads, “Women’s History Month”. The second reads, “Honoring Women's History Month is an opportunity to celebrate the countless contributions, achievements, and resilience of women throughout history. It's a time to recognize the trailblazers who shattered barriers, the activists who fought for equality, the leaders who inspired change, and the everyday women who have made extraordinary impacts in their communities and beyond.”]

Diverse representation in leadership is not just a matter of equity; it's crucial for achieving true gender equality. Did you know that studies show that only 27% of parliamentary seats worldwide are held by women? It is no wonder that recently, we've seen the rollback and threats on hard-earned women's rights; one step forward, three steps back. To challenge existing power structures and amplify voices that have long been silenced, we need feminist leaders. This International Women’s Day, we are demanding: 'The world needs more FEMINIST LEADERS.' 🌏 #IWD2024 #GenderEquality #InternationalWomensDay #feminist #leadership

If you're interested in #genderequality, I highly recommend this Substack post: https://lnkd.in/ghb2wWN3 (And Substack had quickly become one of my favorite sources of thoughtful long form content!) She explores the rise of zero-sum thinking around gender equality—where some young men feel that as women advance, they're losing out. ♀️ Globally, as women become more liberal, young men are standing still or shifting to the right ♀️ Global rise of "manfluencers" promoting toxic masculinity and misogynistic rhetoric ♀️ Young men increasingly rejecting women's rights and feminism Katie dives into why this narrative is taking hold, how it’s fueling division, and the broader impact it has on everyone. It's a fascinating take on how we can move beyond this mindset and see equality as a win for all. Highly recommend and would love recommendations for more authors diving in this sadly very relevant issue

Today, as we celebrate #InternationalWomensDay, it's not just about recognizing the achievements of women, it's about men stepping up as advocates for gender equality. Here's how we can be active allies: Listen and Amplify: Prioritize understanding women's experiences. Make space for their voices and promote their ideas. Challenge the Status Quo: Call out sexist language, behaviors, and systems within your workplace and social circles. Be an Active Sponsor: Mentor female colleagues, advocate for their promotions, and publicly acknowledge their contributions. Educate Yourself: Learn about gender bias, microaggressions, and the challenges women face. Walk the Talk: Hold yourself accountable and model inclusive leadership every day. True allyship isn't about one day – it's about consistent actions that create a workplace and world where women have equal opportunities to thrive. Let's commit today and beyond! #IWD2024 #GenderEquality #MaleAllies #BreaktheBias

For the last two weeks as an Official Delegate for UN Women UK at the 68th Commission on the Status of Women, I've been privy to pivotal conversations about the strides we must take to achieve gender equality. Now that the sessions have wrapped up, swipe to read some of the quotes and facts that stood out 👉 My approach was to ask myself, "What can I do to help?" Therefore, I chose to attend the sessions focusing on media, advertising, and communications, honing in on conversations about improving representation, breaking stereotypes, and changing perceptions. There is a lot of work to do in this area, particularly in tackling toxic masculinity and addressing gender-based violence. It should be a call to action for everyone as we all have a role to play. #CSW68 #InvestInWomen #UNWomen #GenderEquality
