Well, this isn't how I thought today would go. After nearly 15 years (seriously, two months shy), Microsoft has made the decision to end our working relationship effective immediately due to changes in the business direction and landscape. I have marked myself as open to work and am available for all opportunities that my network may know of. This was a dream career that enabled me to do many amazing things and I will always look back on the last 15 years fondly regardless of what happens next. To my Microsoft friends - Please let me know of any opportunities you may know of. I will be actively looking for internal opportunities to maintain my time in role and continue the journey with Microsoft. To everyone else - I will shortly be considered a free agent and am open to any opportunities that you think I may be a good fit for. This is merely a bump in the road, and I am keen to make sure I find my next home (with Microsoft or outside of it) as quickly as possible so i can keep driving impact and working on cool things.

Cory, I never asked you a question and felt sorry that I did afterwards, even if what you pointed out was way simpler than I realized. The best popular culture reference I’ve ever heard about leadership is: “you made your people feel safe enough to be brave” (Galactica reboot). That’s a superpower to aspire to, and I wish you well going forward. Godspeed.

Sorry to hear this Cory Ebert! If you think you might like to try a vendor role, I would be happy to chat with you about my experiences with Simplicity Consulting working on a Microsoft contract for the last 4 years. I love the flexibility vs. being a FTE. Just got back from working remote from Italy for a month!

I'm so sorry to hear this Corey. You are the definition of a powerhouse, and I hope your career continues to flourish wherever you decide to go. You have had such a significant impact on folks you have worked with -- From Microsoft Stores alone, you inspired thousands of Services Advisors & helped each one of us build a career at Microsoft. Everything you taught us has had a lasting impact & I know I speak for many when I say your level of knowledge & expertise pushed us to be the best versions of ourselves. I wish nothing but the best for you & I know you will continue to do amazing things.

Corey! I know you won't let this derail your excellence journey. This news is beyond sad for me. Without you and the rest of the Answer Desk team Chuck Bennington and Kyle Wirpel there is no way I would be where I am today, and I don't think I have every been able to express what my time with y'all has meant to me. Please let me know if you need anything and feel free to request a recommendation from me either here or through the hiring portal or want to just talk about how awesome Wuk Lamat's story is in the new Dawn Trail expansion. You are the biggest Microsoft advocate I know. Any team would be absolutely blessed to have you.

Sorry to hear the news. I met you in bridgewater NJ during NSO. You were so talented helpful and amazing. I was just shy 10 years when my journey ended. I felt the same way that it was a dream come true to work for such an amazing company. I was sad for that door to close but in time a new one opened for me as it will for you. I look forward to posts of your new journey ahead.

Sorry to hear this Cory. We worked together once but your impact was massive. Your insights, knowledge and general positive attitude is addictive and inspiring. I've read almost every post you put here and Microsoft will be at a massive loss without you. I will continue to like your posts and add comments for visibility. Wish you the utmost best and if I see anything in your region, I will send it through.

I think the responses here by all of those that have known/worked with you in the past says it all Cory! Very unfortunate to be impacted but I’m certain you will find a great role very quickly! Your knowledge and passion for your work have always made you a standout teammate and that will serve you well as you search for your next role! You can count on me to help and support all along your journey and as a huge fan of who you are and what you mean to all of us here! I’m here for you in whatever capacity needed!

I'm at a loss for words, Cory, as you've been such an advocate for so long. But I know two things: 1. This will take you to greater heights. 2. You're going to find something else you love. Wherever you decide to go, you're going to absolutely crush it.
