Google Ads continue their push towards broad match. The broad match keyword setting is now being enabled by default meaning broad match keywords will be used your entire campaign unless you remember to change this setting and use keyword match types.

Another setting that is on by default that you need to be extremely wary of when setting up new campaigns. Add that to opting into Search Partners and Display Expansion, and having the 'Presence or Interest' option selected for location targeting, and your budget could soon disappear on search terms/placements/locations that are completely irrelevant. #ppc #googleads

If you are using rules to automate any tasks in Google, if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the times you can then choose an exact time that you want the rule to run. This is good if you have precise times that you want ads or ad groups to pause and then restart, for example BAU ads. I used to use the hour time slots, but often found there was an overlap and also had clients that then searched ads, and the wrong ones came up.
