Today, I had a memorable encounter with an HR manager from a leading ed-tech company. Despite running 20 minutes late due to Bengaluru’s unpredictable traffic, our brief 10-minute meeting turned out to be incredibly productive—right in the bustling reception area! As I presented our Monkcraft product samples, the conversation took a turn. He asked, "Can we bring the cost down by choosing something cheaper?" Instead of immediately discussing numbers, I paused and posed a simple yet powerful question: “If this gift were for you, would you still choose it? Would you feel proud to receive it?” He pondered for a moment, then smiled, realizing the impact of quality over cost. “You’re right. Quality does make all the difference,” he replied. This brief exchange flipped the entire conversation. At Monkcraft, we believe that gifting is more than just a transaction; it’s about creating lasting impressions and connections. By choosing quality gifts, you’re not just making a purchase—you’re investing in the morale and pride of your team. Now, he’s ready to invest that extra penny—not just for a gift, but for something his employees will genuinely be excited to flaunt every day. This experience reminded me that sometimes, a small question can lead to big thinking and even bigger decisions. #Monkcraft #CorporateGifting #QualityOverCost

Weekly Highlights : Another week, another set of exciting milestones at rrhai tech!👁️🗨Here’s a quick rundown of what we’ve been up to (and a little fun along the way): -We’ve been engineering wizardry on Monkify.ai, making strides in our job posting and candidate management systems. If everything works perfectly, it's because we planned it. If it doesn't... well, let's call it an "undocumented feature." - Our team also tackled reporting tools this week. In other words, we're building dashboards so slick. 😃 But it wasn’t all work and no play! Today, our HR rockstar Shahanaz Bee organized a fun, competitive quiz that had us all on the edge of our seats. 😅 Huge congratulations to : 1️⃣ Apurva Avinashe –She dominated the quiz like she had the answers beforehand (just kidding, or am I?) 2️⃣ Vikram Singh –Came in strong, just a hair’s breadth away from the top spot. 3️⃣ I fought a fierce battle with Ramesh Krishna, and after much mental sweating, I secured 3rd place. (Note to self: brush up on general knowledge before the next quiz!) Huge thanks to our founders Gregor Reitinger and Patrick R. for hosting this and giving us a much-needed break from staring at screens all day. Ready for another week of crushing it, but first... a cup of coffee, or three! ☕ #ProductManagement #FunAtWork #MonkifyAI #StartupLife #TeamBuilding #QuizChampionInTheMaking #Techlife #BugSquasher #TeamFun #FridayFeels

Dear lovely Connects, Yesterday, 29th of December 2024, we at RootsnSquares Consulting officially closed for the year and I immediately took time off to reflect. It's being an interesting journey, I must admit and it won't have made a single sense if there are nobody's shoulder I stood. First my team, I must not forget. The series of meetings, asking how, what and when. Particularly, I remember December 2022 when we started planning and I can't help but appreciate my team for a milestone worth celebrating. We haven't done a lot, in fact a lot happened to us but one thing is that we are consistent, purposeful and strategic in our approach. This year would have being futile if not for "trusts" I personally earned from clients, friends, our supporters and team. For every client I pitched, I say, I'm not guaranteeing you the cheapest price, but I assured we'll give more than what we received. This we owned and today I can't be less proud to say, we're launching 2 big products in January. Yes, for all this product, we listened to client's ideas and now, they're product waiting to hit the markets early 2025. By this note, I say a big thank you to my team, our clients and supporters who believed we can. I also extend a hand for us to work more in 2025 to build dreams into realities. If you believe you have an idea that worth it, kindly reach out and we'll discuss how to help in: 1. Ideation. 2. Brand identity. 3. Product design. 4. Product development (website and mobile apps) 5. Post launch IT strategies. Share your thoughts on DM please. Sincere regards. Okereke Inno.

The recent news around #WeWork and Alok Jain highlights an important thought: Are we asking questions to truly understand a customer perspective or merely checking boxes? Or still following BANT and figuring out if there’s budget available? Here's what happened - Alok, founder of WeekendInvesting, shared his experience at a WeWork facility in Gurgaon, where he felt inundated with a series of intrusive and superficial questions. This interaction, which came across as judgemental and often seen at high-end car showrooms, left him feeling evaluated rather than valued. The intent behind the questions must have been to understand customer needs better, but if the delivery lacks empathy and feels impersonal, it can put people off. This raises a critical point: the power of asking questions lies not just in gathering information but in building genuine connections. This episode serves as a powerful reminder for #b2bsales —that the art of questioning is about more than just ticking boxes. It’s about engaging in meaningful, respectful exchanges that make customers feel heard, appreciated and you can come across as a trusted advisor. That’s the fine line that salespeople often miss. Now take a note - The cost of training your sales team is way less than a national level embarrassment. 📕🧠 #SalesTraining #SalesEnablement

I’ve been building Gupta Media for so long that sometimes I lose the vision. It happens. I wish I had that maniacal focus that founders talk about. I’ll chase revenue, or margin, or get distracted by something that feels like it matters but, in the end, doesn’t. Those wandering side quests last days and weeks. And, there are moments where it all comes into hyperfocus. It feels like I can see light bounce off of each facet. I can see the brushstrokes already laid down and the ones to come. I understand why some painters never finish their favorite pieces. It’s not laziness, and it’s certainly not perfectionism. They’ve seen it finished, so how could they stop when they know it’s not done? I saw the entire path of smartURL before we even built the prototype. It was just there in my imagination. I knew how to build it and what it would do for music. And, for the next 10 years, we built it, ran it and, in the end, sold it. Last week, I saw it for the next phase of Gupta. You might hear me drop the Media from Gupta Media from time to time. It’s definitely a tell; my inner monologue said aloud. We started as a Media agency but it’s growing into something different. We’re building either the best Agency or the best anti-Agency, I haven’t decided yet. I just know that it’s not like what I see in the marketplace. It feels like we are getting smarter, hungrier, bigger, smaller, faster and more methodical at the same time. It’s deep expertise and, then, somehow, also broad expertise. My best writer is not on my Copy team, and my best Engineer might not be on the Engineering team. I wouldn’t want to pitch against us right now. We promoted 13 people last week, we filled 2 senior roles, we started the process of saying goodbye to 3 long-time employees and onboarded 5 new hires. It's trite to say that the energy is palpable, but last week at Town Hall, it was palpable. Think about this, the average notice period of the 3 people leaving was 5 months and both offers were accepted within a day. Employees vote with their feet. On top of that, we announced our new headquarters. It’s the biggest relative office space change in the Boston market in 2024. We are more than doubling our space in a market where the average transaction is -15%. It’s just blueprints and renders right now, but in that moment of hyperfocus, I was there. I could see people walking, and I could hear the buzz that builds up when people are working hard on problems worth working hard on. I’ve been building Gupta for the last 22 years, and I know that I don’t have 22 left. Sometimes I wish I had less time, but right now, I wish I had more.
