Did you know that lack of trust can be a trauma response? It's not uncommon for trauma survivors to struggle with trusting others, even if they acknowledge that they want to heal and move forward. But what's holding them back is the fear of being hurt again, or the feeling that people will inevitably let them down. Complex trauma survivors rarely trust people, because they were betrayed by those who were supposed to take care of them.
