Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented and experienced AWS Serverless Developer to join our remote IT team. In this role, you will collaborate with a small team to architect, build, and manage the serverless backend infrastructure that powers our mobile app. At Returned.com, we prioritize not only the functionality but also the quality of our codebase, investing in regular refactoring to ensure scalability, maintainability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning and Strategy:
Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and strategies for the mobile app and backend services.
Identify critical features and potential high-risk areas to prioritize testing efforts.
Unit and Integration Testing:
Write and maintain unit tests for the Flutter mobile app using Flutter Test and Mockito.
Develop unit tests for AWS Lambda functions using Mocha, Chai, and Sinon.
Implement integration tests for API services and inter-service communication using Supertest and AWS SAM CLI.
Automated Testing:
Create automated integration and end-to-end tests using Flutter Integration Test, Flutter Driver, Cypress, and Postman.
Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions, Travis CI, or CircleCI.
Manual Testing and User-Focused Tests:
Perform manual testing for new features and critical user journeys to identify and report bugs.
Conduct usability testing to ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience.
Regression Testing:
Maintain and execute a suite of regression tests to ensure new changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
Performance and Security Testing:
Conduct performance testing to ensure the app and backend services handle load efficiently.
Perform basic security testing to identify and mitigate common vulnerabilities.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of requirements and expectations.
Document and communicate test results, defects, and quality metrics to the team.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in QA engineering, preferably with mobile and backend services.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in writing and maintaining unit tests for Flutter apps using Flutter Test and Mockito.
Experience with Node.js testing frameworks such as Mocha, Chai, and Sinon.
Familiarity with integration and end-to-end testing tools such as Supertest, AWS SAM CLI, Cypress, and Postman.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Travis CI, or CircleCI.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
