Responsibilities

Job description

  • Engineer, spearhead, and implement solutions for complex telephony problems.
  • Hands on while possessing the exceptional ability to collaborate with technology and business partners.
  • Swiftly analyze technical problems and drive various technology stakeholders to successfully implement proposed solutions.
  • Design and implement telephony-as-a-service solution to meet dynamic business needs.
  • Define non-functional requirements for cloud-based telephony platforms.
  • Coach junior telephony engineers to develop cloud engineering skillsets.
  • Mentor other telephony engineers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or other IT-related major is required, or 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of technology experience with progressive responsibilities with at least 5 years in telephony in a principal engineer or architect role.
  • 5+ years working in a technical role with a solid grasp of advanced telephony concepts.
  • 5+ years of experience managing the deployment of complex cloud telephony solutions in a large-scale environment.
  • Design and implementation of large-scale CCaaS and UCaaS platforms.
  • Experience configuring and implementing telephony services hosted platforms such as Avaya, Alvaria/Noble, NICE, Five9, LiveVOX, RingCentral, or Amazon Connect.
  • Desire towards bias for action and speed in problem solving technology issues
  • Ability to effectively coordinate between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile or similar environment.
  • Ability to drive automation via Ansible and/or Terraform.
  • Experience with hybrid on-prem/cloud environments.
  • Strong documentation skills with ability to write policy, procedure, and standards.
  • Experience establishing and managing telephony service level agreements.
  • Perform changes in approved maintenance windows during nights and weekends, as necessary.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
