The Deamer Group is excited to partner with Eastbrook Academy in their search to fill its teaching positions. Eastbrook Academy is in search of a 5th grade teacher who can become a valued member of its Christian teaching environment.

Role Summary

The 5th grade teachers will be responsible for instructing students in a range of subjects. Creates lesson plans, administers praise and constructive criticism, and provides instruction and guidance to inspire and empower students to excel in the curriculum. They are expected to demonstrate patience, humility, integrity, and kindness while performing day-to-day duties. The 5th grade teacher must be devoted to prayerfully work with administration, faculty, students and parents to develop and maintain a nurturing Christian learning environment.

Spiritual Requirements

You must be currently a member in good standing of a church. Unreserved acceptance of EBA's Statement of Faith. A strong, clear Christian testimony. A mature Godly spirit. A person of faith and prayer, with a growing, living personal relationship with the Lord Jesus. Recognize the ministry of the school as an outreach of the church.

Schedule:

  • Start of 8/1/24
  • Monday to Friday
  • 8-hour shift
  • On location

Salary:

  • $45,000 annually

Role Responsibilities

  • Creates lesson plans and modifies accordingly throughout the year utilizing various curriculum resources.
  • Creates plans and prepares instructional resources, activities and projects designed to enhance lectures for use in the classroom.
  • Integrates competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans
  • Utilizes curricula that reflects the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
  • Creates a positive, Christ-centered educational climate for students to learn in.
  • Meets course and school-wide student performance goals. Differentiates instruction to ensure all learning styles are met.
  • Participates in ongoing training sessions and learning opportunities.
  • Grades papers and performs other administrative duties as needed and maintaining online grade books.
  • Facilitates virtual learning and communicates with parents and staff.
  • Reads and stays abreast of current topics in education.
  • Leverages "Warrior Way” messaging to encourage constructive student behaviors.
  • Develops professional relationships with other agencies and programs.
  • Works with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met.
  • Establishes and communicates clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Prepares and distributes required reports.
  • Maintains clear, open and professional communication with parents.
  • Manages student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.
  • Leads and participates in prayer in classrooms and meetings.
  • Integrates Biblical principles and perspectives throughout instruction.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding students, student records, parents, staff and any other school-related matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year college or university
  • Two or more years of classroom teaching experience preferred
  • Active involvement in a Christian church community
  • Personally, and professionally self-regulated.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from school leaders, students, parents, and the general public.
  • Experience with Google classroom, Chrome Books required, Blackbaud preferred.
