Join an accredited public charter Montessori school and professional learning community in Washington, DC. This exciting opportunity involves providing evidence-based academic enrichment support and specialized services for students in grades 1-6, focusing on both remedial and accelerated instruction in reading and math.
You will work with small groups of students, ranging from those who are at-risk to those who have mastered grade-level standards, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive.
Essential Responsibilities
Work with small groups of 10-13 students
Provide reading/literacy or math curriculum (training provided)
Develop skill-appropriate lesson plans
Maintain student records as required
Ensure supervision of students to assure their safety
Regularly meet with the Montessori Elementary Coordinator and classroom guides for planning
Administer formative assessments to track student progress and analyze outcomes
Assist with proctoring of standardized assessments
Maintain inventory of teaching materials and supplies
Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred
Active Teaching Certificate preferred
Prior experience in a Montessori school
Working knowledge of Google Suite, MS Office, and virtual meeting programs (Zoom, Google Teams, etc.)
Positive and enthusiastic attitude towards students, teachers, and stakeholders
Working Conditions
The position involves sitting for extended periods and may require occasional intra-city travel.
