Majestic Steel is excited to grow our sales team! We are seeking an Account Director, who will acquire new accounts and re-engage previous customers for contractual business opportunities. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about the hunting side of sales, has steel or metals industry experience and desires to enable company growth. This is a remote, outside sales role.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Consult on-site and virtually with customers to ascertain needs and provide recommendations for strategy and product solutions.
  • Strengthen existing industry and customer relationships, while developing new relationships within both.
  • Achieve sales and profitability targets to increase revenue and company profitability.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis on current accounts and develop new revenue-increasing strategies.
  • Prospect for new business opportunities within assigned industry and partner with other sales resources to ensure proper sales coverage.
  • Effectively present, educate and discuss products and value-added services of the company; able to manage complex proposal development both internally and externally to align to customer RFQ/RFP cycles.
  • Work all assigned accounts in portfolio and document all activity and customer information in designated software systems.
  • Establish and maintain continuous communication with customers and design and manage activities and consistent follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and strong business relationships.
  • Administer contract business ensuring that all signed contracts are completed as specified in the agreement.
  • Adhere to established guidelines for sales and pricing process and procedures.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on performance of sales and other associates supporting local sites of assigned corporate accounts.
  • Actively attend and participate in sales meetings, customer visits, product seminars, trade shows and similar events and activities.
  • Coordinate with other internal business partners as appropriate to support sales efforts including qualifying customer needs, administrative support, and customer service.
  • Maintain knowledge of the steel industry based on information disseminated internally in order to provide the highest level of service and market knowledge to customers.
  • Other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.


Education, Training And Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in consultative sales, with an emphasis on value-based customer relationships in steel, metal or related industry.
  • Technologically savvy and experience working with Salesforce, Microsoft Office products and Windows-based


Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Requirements

  • Highly motivated self-starter with the desire and ability to work autonomously and show consistent professionalism and good judgment.
  • Proven track record of sales goal attainment in a highly competitive environment.
  • Proven negotiation skills and creative selling ability.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining corporate-level and C-suite relationships within complex regional and national-level accounts.
  • Ability to successfully prepare complex proposals and close on multi-year contract opportunities.
  • Ability to overcome objections and persevere in the face of criticism, obstacles and rejection.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly convey information and ideas to customers and all levels of the organization.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to work effectively in a fast paced and high stress environment.
  • Innovative problem solver with the ability to gather and interpret information.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, accept responsibility and follow through without close supervision.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in flat rolled coated steel or related metal industry sales, with an emphasis on value-based customer relationships.


Additional

  • Must be able to work outside normal business hours/days as needed.
  • Must be able to travel and work at an outside location; overnight travel up to 50%.
