The Role

Cool Global Lifestyle and Fashion PR Agency is looking for a highly-driven, connected, creative, and highly organized communications professional with 2+ years of relevant PR experience across a variety of lifestyle and consumer clients.

The ideal candidate will be deeply rooted in New York City culture and brand building. They naturally follow brands and trends through a daily practice of reading the news and being socially native. The candidate must have a deep understanding of the ever-changing, modern media landscape, and how to implement innovative communications strategies to get the best results for their clients. They are keen to be out of the office, whether it’s at an industry or community event, entertaining media or influencers or simply taking part in a hobby outside work. They will have a proven track record of securing earned coverage for their clients - be it traditional press, social or word of mouth.

Responsibilities:

Creativity

  • Interested in earned media and inspired by delivering first class insight-driven earned ideas
  • Tapped into social media trends to come up with new ideas for clients that will help them reach new audiences
  • Understands how to build an earned media calendar, developing story ideas and creative pitches for targeted media, aggressively pursuing new angles and opportunities
  • Comes up with fresh storytelling opportunities for clients that will gain media attention and achieve earned results
  • Has finger on the pulse of the latest industry and media trends, as well as the news agenda to ensure stories land in the best way
  • Strong writer and an appetite to learn how to write up earned ideas for client presentations
  • Ability to support in the development of brand's comprehensive seasonal and special program strategies (including press office, brand owned moments, partnerships, and seeding)

Productivity

  • Ability to lead reporting for clients with new and existing templates
  • Highly organized individual that can keep track of multiple projects at any one time, with the support of a senior team
  • Support daily client account activities, including developing and managing weekly timelines and status documents to effectively execute campaigns and ensure that all deadlines are met
  • Confident in taking robust notes on client calls, and tuned in to what is happening to be able to support the team and grow

Relationships & Media Landscape

  • Reads a variety of media verticals - from magazines to global news channels and zines
  • Ability to build strong media and influencer lists that are tailored to specific clients and projects
  • Understanding of the modern "earned" landscape (spanning press, social, word-of-mouth, etc.) and delivers smart, innovative communications strategies to clients that go beyond traditional publicity
  • Proven ability to place trend round-ups and product features in quality media outlets to strategically position consumer and lifestyle clients
  • Understanding of the influencer landscape and interest in securing organic and paid placements
  • Actively networks with media across entertainment, lifestyle, business, trade, and consumer outlets and maintains strong relationships
  • Experience in managing Account Coordinators and Interns and able to train them in reporting, writing and pitching

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in Comms at a similar communications agency
  • Culture and trend obsessed with a genuine interest in the brands we represent
  • Strong knowledge in footwear, fashion and streetwear
  • Socially native
  • Strong media relations with consumer lifestyle, trade and business media
  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and able to execute multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to take and apply direction from supervisors
  • Effectively manages time, meets deadlines and works with supervisors to manage priorities
  • Team player and able to work cross-department with multiple teams and seniority levels

What We Offer
