WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

For the Sales Account Executive, CommerceNext is looking for a candidate with previous sales experience, comfortable with seeking out new opportunities and nurturing existing relationships. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Office, the Account Executive’s primary responsibilities include hunting for new prospects (ecommerce and marketing solution providers) and growing existing clients as sponsors of CommerceNext events. The ideal candidate is curious and engaged within the industry and is experienced with creating outreach funnels and engaging in unobtrusive and effective outreach. Candidates should be comfortable keeping records and maintaining a high volume of outreach in a respectful and thoughtful manner.

THE ROLE:

This role offers a great opportunity to work with an established and supportive sales team while also allowing the candidate to build and manage their own book of clients. Previous experience with identifying and evaluating new prospects, analyzing and developing sales support documents and assisting in the development of potential new product offerings for the sponsor community are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Grow business opportunities with existing customers
  • Establish relationships with existing customers, continuously learn about their needs and connect those needs to relevant CommerceNext sponsorship opportunities
  • Maintain a consistent and high level of prospecting outreach based on other industry events and news
  • Evaluate industry events and identify potential new sponsors
  • Respond to incoming inquiries
  • Build potential new sponsor lists from CommerceNext event attendee lists
  • Maintain a healthy funnel of new leads for the Sponsorship team
  • Set up a minimum level of weekly meetings for prospective sponsors
  • Track prospecting and sales outreach efforts on a daily basis in our sales CRM
  • Work with team to assist with record keeping of signed sales agreements
  • Work with sales team to design and execute outreach emails to potential sponsors
  • Attend sales meetings and support the team

Qualifications & Skills

  • 2-3 years of direct sales experience, ideally within the ecommerce industry
  • Knowledge and intellectual curiosity about retail, ecommerce and digital marketing to become proficient in relevant trends, issues and best practices in marketing and ecommerce
  • Experience managing sales funnels/performance results
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Copywriting and editing skills
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software (Microsoft and GSuite)
  • Creativity and excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and process information
  • Effective communication and collaboration in a remote-first work environment
