Job Overview
The Pharmacy Benefits Bureau is seeking candidates for the position of Accountant 2 to assist in the regulatory analysis and/or examination of registered pharmacy benefits management companies.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of four years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Experience in health care accounting and/or internal audit is preferred.
Job Duties:
- Participate in the examination planning process with respect to the scope of a limited or targeted examination and review necessary material prior to the commencement of the examination.
- Participate in examination functions and prepare records of work in support of findings with regard to a subject company's market practices and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidance.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining accounting control policies and procedures.
- Provide reports on operating performance, financial reporting policies, tax reporting, audit control, revenue and expense analysis, and forecasting (budgeting) of financial results and cost standards.
- Participate in meetings with representatives of the Department and/or subject companies.
- Perform analytical reviews and/or verification of documentary submissions.
- Prepare memoranda as required.
Preferred Skills:
- MBA or CPA/CMA certification preferred.
- Familiarity with statutory accounting principles, insurance regulation, and/or NY Insurance Law would be helpful but not required.
- Experience using audit analytics software such as ACL or Teammate EWP.
- Experience testing the design and effectiveness of internal controls.
- Demonstrable project management skills, including experience managing time-sensitive, complex projects simultaneously.
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
Misc. Information:
- This is a Monday-Friday position with working hours from 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm.
- All job offers are tentative pending satisfactory background and fingerprint checks.
- Interviews will be conducted using Microsoft Teams.
- Client does not provide parking, but the office is located on a bus route.
- Equipment will be provided to the candidate to carry out the duties.
