Job Overview: The Pharmacy Benefits Bureau is seeking candidates for the role of Accountant 2 in its drug price investigations unit. The selected candidate will serve as the accounting subject matter expert of the unit, under the supervision of the Unit Chief. This role involves reviewing and analyzing financial data of pharmaceutical companies to investigate significant drug price spikes.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Work Experience:
Experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related field.
Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is preferred.
Job Duties:
Review and analyze quarterly reports of pharmaceutical companies.
Analyze profit and loss statements submitted in the course of investigations.
Analyze the ROI of various sales, marketing, and operations activities.
Review and analyze quarterly investor presentations from pharmaceutical manufacturers.
Review and analyze any forecasting data submitted in the course of investigations.
Produce reports on findings for other members of the team that don't have a financial background.
Provide expert guidance on questions related to financial reporting and accounting.
Collaborate with other members of the unit on investigative projects.
Conduct research on accounting standards and financial regulations related to the pharmaceutical industry.
Preferred Skills:
MBA or CPA/CMA certification preferred.
Superior written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience with financial analysis software such as Excel or Tableau.
Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
Misc. Information:
Monday-Friday; 8 AM-4 PM or 9 AM-5 PM.
