We are looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting various accounting tasks, including the compilation, analysis, and treatment of financial data. You will maintain accurate accounting records, prepare journal entries, and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and input both recurring and special journal entries.
Ensure accurate accounting classifications for transactions such as customer invoices, vendor invoices, and journal entries, relating to operating revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
Collaborate with other departments to analyze customer and general ledger accounts, ensuring smooth coordination of accounting matters.
Work closely with external auditors during the audit of accounting procedures and records, with a focus on your assigned areas.
Compile data and assist with the preparation of regular and special accounting reports and analyses.
Meet deadlines for processing journal entries as part of the monthly closing process.
Regularly interface with team members from other departments to resolve routine accounting issues.
Participate in and support special projects as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficiency in working with computerized accounting systems.
Strong understanding of PC software and systems.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, for effectively interacting with customers, team members, consultants, and external accounting firms.
Ability to analyze basic accounting records and financial reports.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize daily tasks, especially during monthly closings and analyses.
Sound decision-making skills for managing day-to-day accounting transactions.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in an analytical field is preferred.
