Overview

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Accountant to join our team. In this role, you'll work closely with the Accounting Manager to support a variety of corporate accounting functions. Your responsibilities will range from managing timesheet submissions and employee expenses to preparing reconciliations and maintaining financial records. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our accounting processes while working in a collaborative, remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

Full Cycle Accounting: Handle all aspects of accounting, including accounts receivable and payable, expense report processing, and monthly balance sheet, bank, and credit card reconciliations. You will also present financials at monthly finance meetings.

Payroll Processing: Manage semi-monthly payroll processing and ensure timely submission of 401K contributions.

Regulatory Compliance: Submit quarterly and annual filings in accordance with contract awards and local payroll tax requirements. File annual property tax returns and compile 1099 forms annually.

Financial Coordination: Coordinate and manage the annual external CPA financial review, and assist with the annual health benefit renewal process.

Employee Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding of new employees, particularly in relation to payroll and timekeeping.

Monitoring and Documentation: Routinely monitor the 401K plan, update contract trackers, maintain a paperless filing system via MS SharePoint, and implement financial policies and procedures.

Strategic Support: Assist in the creation of budgets, cash flow projections, and support strategic and annual planning. Participate in special projects as required.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required. A minimum of three years of accounting experience, including payroll processing, is essential.

Technical Skills: Strong experience with QuickBooks (minimum of three years of daily use) and advanced skills in MS Excel are required.

Preferred Experience: Knowledge of government contract accounting and familiarity with timekeeping software are a plus. A CPA license is also preferred.

Personal Attributes: The ability to multitask and prioritize competing tasks is crucial. You should be comfortable learning and working with new computer systems. A sense of humor and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment are highly valued.
