Affinity Group is seeking an automation-focused Manager to lead financial strategy in our Southeast, Midwest and Central regions. This position will be based at our headquarters in Charlotte, NC and will report to the Director of Finance while also working closely with the Chief Financial Officer.

The Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in the month-end financial close and reporting process. The right candidate will have several years of multi-state accounting and finance experience with a midsize company. 3rd party client interactions and financial oversight for multiple regions and companies require this candidate to be an excellent communicator at all levels, from employees to executives.

Job Duties:
Oversees Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams
Strategically develops the accounting team to support company growth. Creates and/or recommends processes to improve accuracy and efficiency
Prepares monthly financial statements through full cycle accounting and provides financial reporting and calculations to executive leadership
Acts as the Subject Matter Expert on expense reimbursement policies for multiple regions. Oversees expense management software (SAP Concur) and associated processes
Oversight for commission reconciliation process.
Manages monthly bank account and credit card reconciliations
Manages bank transactions including remote deposits and ACH transactions
Maintains lease and contract documentation
Ensures accuracy of fixed asset recordings for preparation of property tax returns
Oversees annual business licenses, tax, Secretary of State annual reports, PCORI, USDA PACA and other tax/license documentation and payments
Manages annual renewal paperwork and Worker’s Comp audits in partnership with business insurance agent
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related disciplines
Minimum 5 years of professional work-related experience in addition to degree
Experience with leading a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support
Strong attention to detail
Experience using Microsoft products such as Power BI, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Strategic Problem Solver: Candidate proactively calls out problems, while also providing recommendations and solutions with a positive attitude
Influence: Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization. Must have a personable approach to influence internal clients (employees) and chase down RFI's (request for info) on a routine basis
Discipline: Possesses and applies fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices and procedures. Ability to be self-motivated, to multi-task and achieve time-sensitive deadlines. Able to handle confidential information with integrity and exercise good judgment
Teamwork: Ability to partner with diverse teams and learn from others, regardless of titles
Communicator: Triage department emails and draft communication related to month-end
Desired Qualifications:
Eight (8) years or more of professional work-related experience in addition to degree
Two (2) years or more of experience in financial management (people leader)
High proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SharePoint and Adobe Pro
Experience working with QuickBooks
Experience with online systems and automation applications such as SAP Concur Expense Management
What to Expect:
Mon - Fri (8am to 5pm) in office
Hybrid flexibility upon completion of initial training
No travel, except for on rare occasions for continuing education
