Our client is a well-established international manufacturing organization located in the Durham, NC metropolitan area and is seeking an Accounting Manager to eventually oversee a small accounting and finance team.
The Accounting Manager will report to the CFO, holding responsibility for managing day to day operational accounting, general ledger, accruals, reconciliation, month-end close and all related reporting. He or she will support the cost accounting function and provide quarterly and annual financial statement reporting.
Responsibilities
Oversee all internal controls
Supervise journal entry activity
Lead month-end close, consolidations and financial statement preparation and analysis, and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations
Prepare the company for quarterly and annual external audits and partner with external auditors
Partner with Controller in preparation of quarterly financial and variance reporting
Prepare monthly income statements estimates and compare against budget
Ensure that all activity for inventory is properly recorded and reconciled regularly. Performs manufacturing yield review and product cost build up for finished goods.
Interface with international team on inter-company activities and transfer pricing activities
Work with vendors on payments and credit and collections activity
Perform ad Hoc projects and reporting as needed
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
3+ years of accounting and compliance experience
3+ years of manufacturing industry experience preferred
Ability to work in office daily with a small team
Be a problem solver as new issues arise
Detail oriented with strong communication skills
