ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages accounting activities while accurately and promptly producing financial and statistical reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis or as required or requested.
• Supervises and manages staff who are responsible for the accounting function including, but not limited to, accounts payable, recording of revenue and expenses, fixed asset activity, inventory, etc.
• Oversees and assists in accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Ensures timely payment of all gaming taxes and other regulatory fees.
• Assists in providing accurate financial reporting and participates in the quarterly and year-end audits performed by external auditors.
• Posts all journal entries and maintains general and subsidiary ledger, including the fixed assets ledger.
• Responsible for proper reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts each month, and the timely and accurate close of the accounting records at the end of each month.
• Reviews and interprets unusual transactions, adjustments, or unexpected financial results to determine the appropriate accounting treatment or necessary follow up.
• Assists in preparation of the annual budget.
• Reports to the Director of Finance as assigned, with accurate and timely work.
• Maintains alertness for the performance of all responsibilities and a general awareness of casino operations at all times. Keeps their supervisor informed of any concerns.
• Performs responsibilities in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act and Regulations, Internal Control Minimum Procedures, and all internal policies and procedures.
• Performs special projects as needed or requested.
  
  

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated knowledge of and experience using various accounting software products including but not limited to General Ledger and Excel. Has the ability to learn other accounting software programs as necessary. Ability to perform within specific deadlines and under pressure. Well organized and demonstrated experience problem solving and prioritizing work.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or the equivalent in education and experience. Three (3) or more years of recent and related accounting experience, including managerial experience. Prefer experience working in the gaming industry.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English.

REASONING ABILITY: Position often performs beyond the scope of essential duties.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have a valid and current State of Colorado Gaming License. Must have a valid Colorado Driver’s License, with a good driving record. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES: Demonstrated knowledge of GL Accounting. Possess the ability to perform basic mathematical computations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential duties involve sitting while completing paperwork or using a computer, kneeling, and squatting. Essential duties require lifting up to 30 pounds to stack, store, or move general office supplies, equipment, and storage boxes. Essential duties involve a standard workweek with additional hours frequently required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Essential duties involve working in an office environment which frequently contains loud or high noise levels. Essential duties include being near large numbers of people while primarily in an inside environment.

Compensation & Benefits

$65,000+ annually based on experience
