Accounting Manager

SUMMARY

The Accounting Manager plays a vital role in the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely and strategic reporting. Reporting directly to the Senior Finance Manager, this position collaborates with all accounting team members to maintain the integrity of financial data. Additionally, the Accounting Manager provides advanced analytical insights that are important for informed decision-making at the senior management level.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, prepare and record journal entries accurately and in compliance with advanced accounting principles.
  • Lead the monthly closing process by performing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and other key tasks to ensure accurate monthly financial reporting.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and reporting, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in managing monthly reconciliation of CAPEX including working with management on external reporting to Germany.
  • Prepare annual schedules for external auditors and provide the required information for testing and assistance.
  • Ensure all audit requirements are met, and audit findings are addressed promptly.
  • Administer the Nexus PO/AP system, including maintaining approval routes and limits, system users, etc.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable processor and provide backup support to the accounts payable function as needed, assisting with invoice processing and payment verification.
  • Prepare monthly cash balances report to Spain.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and prepare invoices for customers. Address any discrepancies or issues related to customer accounts promptly.
  • Consolidate monthly department expenses and provide monthly and year-to-date analysis to each department head.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, collaborating with various departments to ensure accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations and assist in updating accounting policies accordingly.
  • Collaborate in developing, refining, and implementing accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Ensure that the Gloria Ferrer Culture is consistently supported in all business and employee interactions. Including, ethical and legal aspects, compliant with state and federal law and GF policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, or related field is preferred, or 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Wine industry or beverage alcohol accounting and finance experience, highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong computer skills (PC) including Internet and Microsoft Office Suite, required
  • AMS system experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Direct to Consumer software systems is a plus (Commerce7).
  • Attention to accuracy and detail required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with a diversity of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

  • Must be able to work long hours when required
  • Must be able to sustain the repeated use of hands as well as long periods of standing, sitting, walking and bending



COMPENSATION

  • $75,000 - $95,000 annual salary, plus KPI bonus. Annual salary is dependent on candidates overall skills and qualifications.
