Accounting Manager

Position Overview

The Accounting Manager will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, and results-oriented environment. This person will focus on accounting operations, controls, process improvements and analysis of complex accounting matters. The Accounting Manager reports to the VP, Controller, and will oversee the accounting team and work closely with the broader finance and operational teams. K18 is a fully remote, fast-paced, collaborative environment with opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operational functions including but not limited to inventory, revenue recognition, fixed assets and leases, corporate accounting and general ledger
• Lead month-end close including review of journal entries, detailed variance analysis, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation while ensuring timely and accurate reporting in compliance with US GAAP and internal policies
• Streamline, automate, maintain & improve processes, systems and internal controls. Enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency of the Accounting team to support our continued growth
• Assist in implementing controls and ensure controls are being performed and evidenced
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess performance and identify trends
• Research, conclude and document/write technical accounting position papers.
• Ability to develop and provide accounting requirements to operationalize accounting concepts with cross functional partners
• Ability to develop partnerships between cross functional stakeholders
• Lead and mentor a high-performing corporate accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
• Team leadership through managing talent including motivating, coaching, and mentoring team members
• Ad-hoc projects as needed
  
  

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a managerial or higher role
• Deep understanding of US GAAP
• Strong ability to navigate through challenges, multiple tasks, take ownership, and deliver to commitment
• Strategic mindset, with the ability to think analytically, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive change
• Excellent organizational skills including accuracy, timeliness and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Ability to multi-task multiple projects and competing priorities
• Experience in manufacturing and/or beauty industry a plus
  
  

Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000 USD

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, and if the location of the job changes.
