Accounting Manager

Job Description

Our Accounting Manager serves as a key member of the Corporate Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the monthly and quarterly closing processes. The position handles a variety of responsibilities, including, but not limited to, reviewing journal entries, preparing and reviewing account reconciliations, managing the overall general ledger to help support proper reporting, and other research and analysis for the organization.

Job Highlights:

  • Manage, train, and supervise team members.
  • Manage financial systems. Collect, analyze, verify, and report financial information to key stakeholders within the Orion team to make well-informed financial decisions.
  • Manage the month-end closing process.
    • Review and approve key account reconciliations.
    • Ensure the completeness of all account reconciliations in accordance with internal policy.
    • Prepare and review journal entries as needed.
  • Manage the monthly internal financial reporting process.
    • Establish deadlines for the team to keep everyone on task.
    • Prepare financial reporting packages and distribute them to various stakeholders.
    • Analyze corporate and operational results; working cross-functionally to understand business drivers.
  • Identify and lead process improvement projects and process documentation, responsible for SOX controls compliance throughout the accounting processes.
  • Perform new accounting standard implementations, research, and analysis, as needed.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) accreditation preferred or intent to obtain a certificate
  • Minimum four (4) to six (6) years of increasingly responsibilities of Accounting, Auditing, Financial Reporting or relevant experience
  • One (1) year of Public Accounting experience is highly preferred
  • Advanced working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Must have strong focus on accuracy, attention to details, customer service, and maintaining high standards of integrity
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically
