Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of Accounting at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2025.

The selected candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching innovation, including teaching in online formats and incorporating data analytics. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to maintain an active, high-quality research program and the highest standards of excellence in teaching in accordance with MTSU’s mission as an R2 university and the Department of Accounting’s status as an AACSB-accredited accounting program. The Department of Accounting has been AACSB accredited since 2004 and comprises faculty committed to excellence in teaching and recognized leaders in their respective disciplines. They also have an impressive collective footprint in academic research, practitioner research, and service to the academy, the university, and the community. Required Education

A terminal degree in accounting from an accredited institution is required by the appointment date.

Other Desirables

Applicants with expertise in financial accounting and those who have earned the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or other accounting-related professional certification will receive special consideration.
